Our co-founder and chief scientist, Babak Hodjat was recently interviewed by BBC Click Persian. As the primary inventor of agent-oriented technology applied to intelligent interfaces, Babak was asked to outline how Siri works.
Babak explained that because Siri primarily models the semantics of the applications it represents as opposed to the linguistics, it makes Siri relatively language independent in its limited use in natural language interaction systems (and so easily portable to Persian, for example). He went on to explain that we are still quite far from being able to use such systems for understanding the depth of meaning in poetry or literary works.
The BBC Click Persian program was originally broadcast on July 24.
